Alpha
Bring Your Questions and Your Appetite!
Many people today are seeking answers and fulfillment in their lives. Alpha is a nondenominational, international course that explores such basic questions in a setting of warm hospitality, learning, and discussion.
Alpha is an earnest yet frequently humorous and often moving exploration of key i
ssues and beliefs in the Christian faith. Participants get to know each other over dinner, watch video presentations by Nicky Gumbel (a former agnostic lawyer), and meet in small groups to discuss the evening’s topic, ask questions, and share stories and insights.
Whether you are an agnostic, a beginning Christian, a lapsed Christian, or a long-time Christian with unanswered questions, you are welcome here!
Fall 2008 Course
The current course concludes on Tuesday, November 18, with a celebration dinner at 6:15 p.m.
Spring 2009 Course
The Spring 2009 course will begin on Tuesday, March 3, at 6:15 p.m., and it will conclude on Tuesday, May 26, with a celebration dinner. Showing up to the preview dinner does not obligate you to attend the rest of the course, but we hope you will continue to come. You may also attend if you miss this introductory meeting, or even the next class. All classes begin with dinner, followed by a video presentation at 7:00 p.m. and small-group discussions until 8:30 p.m. Childcare, including dinner, is provided at no charge.
Sign-ups will begin in February 2009. There is no registration fee, but for planning purposes we like to know who and how many plan to attend, and how many children to expect in childcare. For more information, please contact Rev. Suzanne Ebel, 856-5040 x106; or Lorie Webb, 856-5040 x119.
